Facilities and Resources
Landex Research operates two offices in the Chicagoland area. Our research support center is located in the heart of the business district in Chicago, Illinois - close to a wide variety of public records facilities that our staff utilizes daily for research. Our corporate headquarters—located in Schaumburg, Illinois—is home to most of our caseworkers and researcher staff. In addition, Landex Research employs a number of field reporters who work in various capacities near strategic courthouses and genealogical collections.
Our researchers regularly travel to courthouses all over the United States for the purpose of gathering information to help locate missing heirs and resolve pending estate matters.
Our most valuable resource is our highly trained staff of case workers who have worked together for many years. We are experts in probate research and are familiar with the varying laws of descent and distribution. Our experience has taught us which private and public records are useful in identifying family relationships and where these sources are available.
We work with a large network of genealogical researchers, reporters, and correspondents throughout the United States and Europe. Thus, we are truly a global organization with research capabilities virtually anywhere in the world.
We are continuously monitoring the availability of new resources and obtaining new data to assist us in our searches. This includes a large number of online industry database services in addition to our in-house research materials.
